To get the most out of the site, we recommend that members stick with these standard options. However, you may want to tweak them to fit your personal preferences. Here are some of your options: CONTACT OPTIONS There are two ways for members to contact you. You can turn-off the ability for all members to contact you through the site! 1) Email The site allows other members to send you an email to your email address. You then email them back from your email account. They cannot see your email address until you of course email them back. Cut off Email - To cut off the ability for people to email you through the board, visit the 'My Controls' section. Scroll down until you see 'Options' in the lefthand menu. Click 'Email Settings'. Check the box beside 'Hide my email address from other members.' Click the 'Amend My Email Settings' button. 2) Private Messenger The Private Messenger allows other members to send a message t to you through the board. The message shows up in your Inbox/Messenger on the site. The board will notify you of the new message in two ways. It will send you an email notification and/or a pop-up notification on the board. You can change either of these through your Email Settings or Board Settings. Cut-off the Private Messenger - To cut off the ability for people to send you a Private Message, visit the 'My Controls' section. Scroll down until you see 'Options' in the lefthand menu. Click 'Board Settings'. Scroll down to 'Personal Messenger Options'. Change the dropdown to 'Yes'. Then click the 'Change My Account Options' button. Cut off Email Notification - The board notifies you at your email address when you get a Private Message. To cut this off, visit the 'My Controls' section. Scroll down until you see 'Options' in the lefthand menu. Click 'Email Settings'. Uncheck the box beside 'Send a notification email when I receive a new private message.' Click the 'Amend My Email Settings' button. BLOCK/IGNORE MEMBERS To block an individual member from contacting you, visit the 'My Controls' section. Scroll down until you see 'Options' in the lefthand menu. Click 'Manage Ignored Users'. Now, enter the member's username in the box and press 'Update Ignored Users' ALTERNATE CONTACT METHODS You can also provide your preferred ways for non-members to contact you. Your profile allows you enter your web site address. So, you can just send members to that.
